TEACHER BIOS

Sherry Hines   Sherry Hines
Sherry began studying tap, ballet and acrobatics at the age of six. At age 15, she begain dancing professionally with various New York dance companies and toured the U.S. and Canada. Upon moving to California in 1986, she began teaching tap dancing at four different locations in Marin County and choreographed musicals for the Ross Valley Players, Novato Community Players and Redwood Players including Cabaret, 42nd Street, and Crazy For You. She opened her Dance With Sherry Studio in 1996 and her students have won top prizes in various talent shows and dance competitions such as Dance Masters of California, the Cloverdale Citrus Festival, Sonoma-Marin County Fair and won Best in Show at the Marin County Fair. Her unique choreography has received rave reviews from all who have viewed her work.
     
Miles   Miles Kenedy
B-BOYING (BREAKDANCING) Miles has been b-boying for six years and hip hop dancing for eight years. He has performed all over Northern California and currently is a member of the San Francisco-based hip hop dance troop Khamai. Miles teaches beginning and intermediate levels of b-boying at Dance With Sherry Studio.
     
Blanca Florido   Blanca Florido
Blanca is a very active performer and director in Marin, and holds degrees in both theatre and music. She recently directed and choreographed "Carousel" for The Town Players, and is currently choreographing "The Fantasticks" for Novato Theatre Company. As a performer, Blanca appeared in dozens of stage plays and operas in Florida and on national tours before moving to California. She is also active in voiceover where she specializes in evil characters and can be heard as Irene Adler in the radio drama group One Act Players production of "Scandal in Bohemia." She has her own production company which is in the process of producing a cartoon. Opera roles have included Adele in "Die Fledermaus," Musetta in "La Bohème," and Amahl in "Amahl and the Night Visitors." Blanca has studied jazz, ballet, pointe and modern, and has danced with several local dance groups in addition to dancing on tour and in numerous theatre productions.
     
  Amanda Lucas
Amanda began dancing at the age of two, and studying Hip Hop in 1990 at the age of ten. Since 1994 she has performed with various groups including Nike-sponsored Culture Shock, Micaya's Soul Force, and Fierce Dance Co., where she was Assistant Director. She has studied a variety of dance styles with expert teachers, and has a wealth of performance and teaching experience throughout the Bay Area. From 1999 to 2002 she choreographed for and performed in Micaya's San Francisco Hip Hop Dancefest.

Amanda choreographed a hip hop segment for Michael Smuin's "Gershwin" ballet, and as a teacher at Roco Dance and Fitness, choreographed over a dozen pieces for their semi-annual Civic Center performance. In 2002 she was assistant to the choreographers in the feature film "Love Don't Cost A Thing". Amanda also teaches Hip Hop at the Bay Club Marin.
